How to deal with long receipts

If the receipt is too long, fold it under the complete purchase total, or cut the receipt straight at that point.

If the receipt is not recognized and exempted

It can happen that Bonsy does not automatically cut out the receipt. In this case, you simply have the option to focus the receipt manually. Simply drag the corners of the image towards the corners of the receipt. A small crosshair will appear with which you can frame the receipt. Please try to form a rectangle as it is difficult to read the receipt if it is trapezoidal.

If after the upload there are a lot of unclear elements on the receipt

In that case it is recommended to delete the receipt from Bonsy and take a new photo. Make sure that the light conditions are right, do not wobble and try to photograph the receipt as straight as possible to make Bonsy's work a little easier and to get the best results.

Do not wiggle

While Bonsy is capturing the receipt, the app draws a purple frame around the recognized receipt. While the frame is being created, try not to wiggle as much as possible.

Make sure the lighting conditions are good

Depending on how good the lighting conditions are, the receipt can be read better or, unfortunately, sometimes worse. If there is not enough natural light, then use the flash function to bring more "light into the matter".

If you prefer to upload the receipt to Bonsy at a later time than directly at the supermarket, then the question of questions arises: fold or roll? This is where opinions differ. Some Bonsy users roll the receipt loosely, some fold the receipt. If you should try the folding technique, then it is recommended to make as few folds as possible in the receipt.

It is best to take a photo of the receipt right away

To get the best results, it makes sense to upload the receipt to Bonsy right after you receive it at the checkout. Since the receipt is probably the least wrinkled at that time, you will most likely get the best results. Make sure the lighting is correct and use the flash if necessary.
